Are pets allowed?

Pets are allowed at Lower Lakes. All we say to guests is that as we have fishing lakes and we are surrounded by farmland the usual livestock considerations must be taken. You should also be aware that there is an additional fee for the extra cleaning and this is £35. Thecleaning charge is £35 per dog/ pet. However, if the lodge you stay in is left clean and tidy then we will refund all but one dog’s cleaning charge.

Nearest pubs, shops, super markets etc?

Lower Lakes is only 3 miles outside of the town of Bridgwater so has very good access to local shops and restaurants. There are also some recommended rural pubs for those that want the rural Somerset feel – all within a 5-10min drive of us. For more information just email us or ask when you check in.

Are the lodges accessible to all?

• Meadowside Lodge – has a sloped access and a slope down to the decking area in the front of the cabin. There is a ground floor bedroom and bathroom. Additional bedrooms and bathroom are on second storey and only accessible by stairs
•  Alder has fully sloped access to front and rear of the cabin
•  Hawthorn Lodge has a step to front and back of property
• Aspen, Birch, Willow, and Ash lodges has a sloped access to the property and the decking area. However there is 2 steps down on the lake front for those wishing to take the short cut to the lakeside
• The Poplars has fully sloped access

Can I have a BBQ onsite and do you supply them?

We do allow BBQ’s onsite- in fact, there is a nice decking area outside most of our lodges that overlooks the lake and is the perfect place to enjoy a BBQ! We can supply the BBQ frame for £5, and the BBQ frame and coals for £10. If you do hire please remember to return them clean, ready for the next guest or there will be an extra charge.

Do you provide bicycle hire?

Yes, we can hire out mountain bikes to explore the beauty of the Somerset levels, its historic sites, the rivers and canals, the farmland and the Quantock Hills. Its a great activity to do as a group, a family or just on your own. The bikes cost £10 per day to hire. Please call 01278 433066 to book.

Are bed linen and towels provided? Do these get changed during our stay?

Bed linen and towels are all included in the cost of your booking. We don’t do a hotel service where we change the bed linen and towels daily, but if you are staying with us for longer than a week we will change your bedding and towels free of charge mid stay. If you want to order fresh towels we can provide them for just £5 per set. Please call 01278 433066 to do so, or just pop into reception during our opening hours.

What laundry facilities do you provide?

We offer a call and collect laundry service at Lower Lakes. The cost is £4 per wash load and £4 per dryer load. Just call us on 01278 433066 to arrange us to pick it up, pop your washing in the laundry bags (pictured) and we will return your clean washing the same day.

Is there WiFi in the Lodges? 

Unfortunately there isn’t WiFi in the lodges yet, but you can come to The Reception and use the WiFI there for free. Just pop in and ask for the access code!
